No fun at the Lily Pond

It was a tough evening for our mighty Arden Hills Phillies, who fell behind early against the Rockies and struggled enroute to a 16-5 loss at a sun-drenched Lily Pond Park in Vadnais Heights. Not much went right for our heroes, who struggled with pitching problems and a lack of clutch hitting. To add to the pain, one of our kids had to leave the game with a bloody nose after losing a fly ball in the sun. My favorite Phillie was 0-1, reaching base twice with a walk and after suffering a second inning beaning (no harm done, that's why they wear helmets). The Phillies' record falls to 4-5-2, with a Thursday contest against the Astros scheduled for 6:15 p.m. at Emmett Williams Elementary School in Roseville.
