51 years ago in my hometown

This picture shows the funeral procession for Senator Joseph McCarthy, who died in May, 1957. The picture shows the procession entering St. Mary's Catholic Church in Appleton, Wisconsin. The building in the background is St. Mary's School, the school I attended 20 years later. I might add that I received the sacrament of Confirmation at St. Mary's as well.

No particular significance, just thought it was an interesting picture.

Great photo. A little to the left of the school is the famous "grate area" where Redskinrama, Hawkrama, Warriorama, Canadianrama, etc., took place each recess. My God were we nerds or what?

P.S. Clutch Cargo ... with his pals Spinner and Paddlefoot ...

No doubt about it, good sir.

"Now, here's our correspondent Mark Miller with his exclusive interview of Redskins lineman Myron Pottios."

On the back side of the building, a young Dick Miller & Reine were working their way out of Bleiers Bar, they bumped in to Red Drexler and Jerry Thurk who had cut out early from their postal gigs. After a polite exchange, it was back in to Bleiers to hoist one up for Tail Gunner Joe.
