Sunday Papers

We get the Sunday papers mostly because of the ad circulars these days. If you want news and commentary that tells you something, you need to go online. I'd like to commend these two items to your attention:

  • I am often instructed by my betters to be less provincial and to pay more attention to the views of "the world." Okay. Here's an essay from Australian blogger Currency Lad with some excellent insights.

  • Yesterday we talked about Sen. Obama's notion of the government sending price signals. Well, watch this video. You tell me -- why the hell should anyone in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia or Colorado vote for Barack Obama? And on a local level, for those of you entranced by Kate Knuth and her "cap and trade" ideas, have you really thought that through?
