Get Out of Denver, Baby

Obama to sign stimulus bill Tuesday in Denver.

Mr. Seger explains the significance.

I walked up back to speak to this southern funky school teacher
She had a lot of something heavy but we couldn't reach her
We told her that we needed something that would get us going
She pulled out all she had and laid it on the table showing
All I had to do was lay my money down and pick it up
The cops came busting in and then we lit out in a pickup truck

Go! Get out of Denver, baby, go, go
Get out of Denver, baby, go
Get out of Denver, baby, go, go
Get out of Denver cause you look just like a commie
And you might just be a member
Better get out of Denver
Better get out of Denver

And it's aimed right at all of us, but is more likely to hit our kids instead.

One of my all-time favorites. I saw Mr. Seger and his band at my uncle's concert theater in Pine Knob Michigan. He had sold out 5 straight shows, and the week before he had played 5 straight sold out shows at another venue in Detroit. The Michiganders loved their Silver Bullet Band.

Allow me to clarify, he played at my uncles ski resort/outdoor amphitheater, Pine Knob. It was actually located in Clarkston MI, also home of the Lion's indoor stadium.

is that like Social Distortion selling out 21 consecutive nites at the House of Blues in Anaheim?

Makes me think of another BS&SBB lyric. No, not "turn the page" but "I think I'm going to Katmandu!"

Picking up where NW left off:

"I know I'm gonna miss the USA. I guess I'll miss it every single day."

So Obama is in Arizona today. Another song comes to mind:

By the time I get to Phoenix, taxes'll be rising
