Manure with gift wrap

Despite 4-5 days of rapturous coverage in the Twin Cities media, including a full-page photo in the Sunday Pioneer Press and lead stories at least 3 times on the 10 p.m. news, Al Franken is still a steaming pile. Senator Steaming Pile, perhaps, but still a steaming pile.

And so he is destined to be to the end of his ill-begotten term. But you know what? If this was the price we had to pay in order to fix the system to root out the inadequate procedures and potential frauds, then it might be worth it. Unfortunately, however, I think the people in power view those as features, not bugs.
