4 years of Dilettante

The date actually passed yesterday, but it's worth noting: this feature began its existence four years ago. After over 1,750 posts, we're still going strong. There are a number of very good blogs that have gone away in the last year and it's easy to understand why. It's tough to keep coming back to face the blank screen. It's a joy, too. Thank you for reading. And thank you for your support and your challenges. I'm guessing the coming year will be a lot of fun.

Congrats on the milestone, Mr. D!

Ever since I discovered your site, I've enjoyed the blend of politics, current events, and musical ecclecticism (if that's a word...).

Even your horrendous taste in sports allegiances is charming, although extremely misguided.

Thanks for your contributions to the discourse, and I look forward to more.

All the best,
Dan

I'm quite fond of Mr. Dilettante's Neighborhood. You take the time to try to explain things calmly while sticking to your guns. That's playing a pretty constructive role in the discourse. I hope that you'll have the energy and the will to continue.

Congratulations, Mr. D. I doubt you ever considered all the places blogging would take you when you started out. Not everyone gets the opportunity, after all, to live-blog the wedding of the decade!

Hey Mark and Family,
Great first term and Happy Blog Birthday. Still glad I stumbled upon your blog two years ago and got to rekindle an old friendship and meet your wonderful family.

Keep up the good work and have a Merry Christmas.
