Lifetime sentence

At one point, Jennifer Rubin was proffered as a conservative blogger for the Washington Post. She's apparently grown in office:
Sarah Huckabee [Sanders] has no right to live a life of no fuss, no muss, after lying to the press—after lying to the press, after inciting against the press. These people should be made uncomfortable, and I think that's a life sentence, frankly.
That's Rubin, opining on MSNBC's "Morning Joy." Life is a long time. Sanders is, at the time I write this, 35 years old. It's reasonable to assume she will live another 50 years or even more. Should we assume that, in 2068, angry people ought to be harassing her? To what end?

As a wise old blogger has written more than once, this is how you get more Trump.

I believe that the dear lady is telling people to stalk Mrs. Sanders, in which case she's making a great case for civil action and even prosecution. I've personally been called to the jury pool for a stalking case; it's very real, and it's a crime.

Jen Rubin is making a great case for herself to be harassed and (why not escalate a bit as long as we're being progressive?) beaten up by people who disagree with her. Why not add vandalism to the list? And if being monsters is okay for the sake of right think, I don't see any reason why we can't just start killing our opponents. Let's kill gobs of reporters for the sake of the Republic. /sarc

Why do these people not see that their line of thinking is horrifically dangerous to themselves and to all of us? Haven't they noticed the originally left wing attack "fake news" is now a weapon in the right wing arsenal? Does she think that harassment and violence won't make its way over as well?

That's not a future I want, but increasingly it seems likely. Thanks Jen Rubin.
