Game theory?

Trying to figure out what Trump is doing right now? Conrad Black offers a supposition:
The Democrats have been shouting from the housetops about protecting Mueller, but Trump has no interest in shutting him down. Mueller has nothing, and his terrors don’t impress its victims. What is inexplicable is the president’s delay in naming an attorney general. He must have been considering this question since it became clear that Jeff Sessions was a prosecutorial eunuch 18 months ago. The only reason that comes to mind for his waiting is because he wants to see if the Democrats are going to be stupid enough to try to impeach him, which would not only fail and backfire, it would be a gold-edged invitation to send the Clinton campaign and Obama Justice Department in droves to the grand jury, and on from there on the conveyer-belt of American criminal justice to the fate they deserve.
One thing about all presidents -- they have access to a lot more information than their critics do. Twitter venting doesn't tell us what's really going on, or what Trump is really going to do. Keep watching.

Trump promised many things, and has set about delivering on them in a systematic way. This very unusual for an American politician.
among his promises, was punishment of The Enemy. Will he deliver? Can he? Not with Sessions.
I hope he finds somebody who can do this job. America will fall under a two-tiered justice system.
I want to see lives destroyed, families driven to bankruptcy. Or guilliotines. Those are good too.

I don't know that I want lives destroyed or people in bankruptcy, but I do know that I want people who lied under oath and provided privileged/classified information to the press, like James Comey, to be convicted for what they've done. But apparently that is too much.

I personally think that the case of Alex Acosta has a lot to do with why this isn't happening. If you show the full black book of Jeffrey Epstein and give voice to all of his victims, I think the entire swamp starts burning. And there isn't enough popcorn in the world for us to pop while we enjoy it.

Come to think of it, I do want a few lives destroyed, don't I? Specifically the lives of perverts who abused vulnerable young ladies on Epstein's Lolita Express.

It'll all boil down to what was offered in exchange for dirt from foreign agents on a political rival. If they were just offered money then that'll be difficult to pin on President Tiny. But what if favor was offered in future dealings for the information? If Clinton or her people had met with Russians to be able to try to have something big on the small hands man the hard right would want blood. But that's why populism will never be for the thinking man.
