Ahem

It's not complicated. If you are willing to vote for infanticide, your claims about protecting children mean nothing. Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith? You're ghouls, both of you.

Well said. I've been thinking the same thing as Democrats grandstand against sexual abuse, and the word "ahem" comes to mind regarding prenatal, and postnatal, infanticide. You want to say you're against abuse? Let's talk about the ultimate form of child abuse, boys and girls.

My guess is that Planned Parenthood and NARAL mobilized the troops around this because they know that postnatal infanticides are actually fairly common in abortuaries. Could put a big dent in their business.

It's nowhere near as simple as you're trying to make it. It rarely is. No one's for killing babies. This is just another example of the religious right trying to take away rights from woman, and to make abortion illegal without it actually becoming illegal. They've been trying to go around the law of the land for years now.

It's very telling, and extremely pathetic. What is it that you people don't understand about an unwanted pregnancy? You're better than this, Mr. Dilettante. Not all of us think that life is so precious. Children are nothing more than a necessary evil. Replacements usually are so to the original.

Life is precious if you're the one living it, JP. And once a child is born, the child has agency. There are lots of people who are looking to adopt. The mother may not want the baby, but someone does.

And it's obvious that people who are willing to let babies die are for it, by definition. Try again.

J. Peterson,

That was... dark. And very interesting.

Here's the text of the law, Mr. Peterson. Tell me what you object to. If abortionists indeed are following the 14th Amendment and completing their infanticides prenatally, what do they have to fear?

https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/311/text

I submit to you that the left is admitting that a fair number of abortions are NOT actually prenatal infanticides, but are postnatal, and if it becomes a crime to commit postnatal infanticide, the gig is up for them.

I have a sister (the twin of my brother Paul, who you know). Amy was born in 1966 and died within an hour of her birth. She had profound birth defects; I never met her and only learned about her when I got older and my mother was able to talk about it. If you assume she was replaceable, my mother would have begged to differ. Before my mother (also replaceable, presumably) died, she asked to buried next to my sister. And she was.

Nihilism isn’t a growth industry, bro.

How can a child born to illegals be deemed worthy of all due process protections as a natural born citizen but somehow these 'other' babies are not? They breathe, they are therefore alive, and citizens at that moment.

No. My life's not precious. Your life's not precious. No one's is.

We're just highly evolved apes that like to pretend that we're special. Adoption? So the fifteen year old raped by her mother's boyfriend is only subjected to a one year sentence instead of at least an eighteen year one? We're all lucky that you'll never need to know that choice.

Dark? Probably so.

And Bike Bubba, when you use ridiculous terms like abortionists and infanticide, you don't even deserve a response.

Actually, nihilism is probably growing more so in this country than you may think that it is. Ya have to remember that Christianity is dying in this land. It's a slow death, but becoming less and less of a factor as the days pass. Make sure that all of the laws that y'all want the rest of us to have to live by, if we buy into religion or not, get passed sooner rather than never.

It would take me a long time, longer than I have at the moment, to respond to all this, but I'm pretty confident you're wrong about this particular assertion. The reason you have so many people embracing so many bizarre ideas is because people are looking for meaning in their lives. They always are. Always have been. Always will, even if it's some form of vague, solipsistic "spirituality." To the extent that a scandal-ridden Catholic church and the desiccated mainline Protestant churches have failed to serve their proper roles it's understandable. But there will be an Awakening. We've been here before.

And every society, in every place, has rules and laws that order how people live, whether Christianity is present or not.

OK, we're all replaceable. Gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet, lebensunwertes Leben, all that. Never heard that before.

Mr. Peterson, I think you might do well to review the history of the 20th century to see where rhetoric like yours leads.

Jason, if your life is not precious, why do you spend money feeding it? shelter? why not jump off a bridge? if, as you say, your life is not precious?

as for me: my life is precious. Try to take it, if you dare.

I think he’s bullshitting, Gino. On another thread he tried to start a global warming discussion, which would rule out nihilism and put some neo-Druid pagan shit into play. Sometimes trolling makes life worth living, amirite?

It's not law to restrict, but to keep abortion legal. We just all want the laws that we want. Makes sense. I have to disagree with some of the ones that you want, but understand that you'll disagree with mine too.

Bubba, the only countries that are roughly as conservative as we are on the planet are run by a military rule, or under strict religious law. Great company that we're keeping. Bernie Sanders would be a centrist in most European nations. And only a moderate leftists in most of Asia, and even Latina America. I'm not sure that you guys really understand just how conservative this country really is, or just how liberal the rest of the world is. We'll always probably have most of the countries of Africa and the Middle East as neighbors on those issues.

Gino, grow the f**k up. You're just an internet tough guy. The fact that you talk about your gun means that you're just a p**sy. You're all talk. Just another dumb Guito. Just grab your idiot stick, and get back to work picking up things, sweeping or moping floors, cleaning toilets, or pushing buttons in a limited sequence that your lowly evolved apelike manner can handle.

No, I'm not trolling. I do understand that I'm wasting my time talking with a bunch of has beens. Amanda was the nice liberal, she could get all worked up and start screeching, but I'm the angry liberal. One of the few that's 6'3", 200, with a mean disposition. I don't look for a fight, but I'm not backing down once presented with one. You misrepresent facts, or the truth, I'm just gonna come here so that at least it's on the record.

Nothing demonstrates the enlightenment of liberalism quite like spittle-flecked ad homina.

Technically, I’m more of a “never was” than a has-been, but I’m okay with that. I have a wife who loves me for who I am and two kids who have already accomplished things in the world, and both of them have bright futures. If I were to die tomorrow in a multi-car pileup on 35W (I’ll do my best to avoid that), my life’s work would be complete. Having said that, there’s more for me to learn and always an opportunity to grow, so I get up every morning looking for new opportunities. As for Amanda, I’d suggest that you take a peek at her blog sometime; at this point in her life, she’s a married woman (a military wife, even) with a young son; whatever her political views are at the moment, she’s chosen to live her life in a fairly conventional manner. A lot of liberals do that, actually.

Maybe you can show us all a better path. You’re welcome to try. And congratulations on being impressively tall. 6’3”? As my dad used to say, I didn’t know they stacked it that high.

Mr. Peterson, perhaps respond to the challenge of actually reading the proposed legislation and see what you disagree with. Regarding the U.S.'s supposed conservatism in the area of prenatal infanticide, it's actually a fact that only seven nations allow elective abortion after 20 weeks. All others put severe restrictions involving criteria like life of the mother and demonstrated fetal unviability.

Never mind the fourth trimester abortion that Democrats seem to endorse. You may say you believe that human life is expendable, but you seem to be trying to take care of yourself. You don't really believe it.

A bellicose Lefty getting "the truth" on the record? Now that's a field where the supply is greater than the demand.

I'll digress. It's absolutely pointless to try to discuss anything with people who think that god and love are more than concepts. Or that you can actually earn or be deserving or undeserving of things. I'll leave you entitled boomers alone and rejoice when all of you are finally gone. You can have your angry old man echo chamber all to yourselves. I hope nothing but the worst for you, your families, and those unfortunate enough to call you friends.

Thanks, Jason. I will be sure to say hi to Mike for you.
