True, good...Having the best QB guarantees nothing.

True, good sir. But I'd rather have the best quarterback than not.

However, if Jackson were released today, I don't believe any team would bother to pick him up.

You'd be surprised, I think. He's never going to be a great quarterback, but he was better than a number of other starters in the NFL last year. Someone would definitely bring him in.

Overall, the Vikings have no one but themselves to blame for being in the position of having to rely on a 40-year old QB.

True dat, playa.Mr. Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13920907647566015611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19838051.post-74379948489302916182009-07-28T11:38:45.950-05:002009-07-28T11:38:45.950-05:00Pretty well, actually. Having the best QB guarantees nothing.

shouldn't the Vikings just cut both of them as soon as ol' number 4 deigns to show up?

I wouldn't go that far. Rosenfels has proven to be a capable backup in his career, so he does have some value. However, if Jackson were released today, I don't believe any team would bother to pick him up. Booty? Who knows what he can do.

Overall, the Vikings have no one but themselves to blame for being in the position of having to rely on a 40-year old QB.Brad Carlsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10443466836095058736noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19838051.post-24085888219176947652009-07-28T06:50:56.351-05:002009-07-28T06:50:56.351-05:00How did that work our for 'em??
Pretty well, ...How did that work our for 'em??

Pretty well, actually. The defense was the issue last year. We'll see.

I take your point about T-Jack and Rosenfels. Having said that, if their opinion doesn't matter, and their talent doesn't matter, shouldn't the Vikings just cut both of them as soon as ol' number 4 deigns to show up? Heck, they can then just go with Favre, Booty Call and some dude off the street for their 3rd quarterback. Remember, Jeff George is still waiting patiently by his phone.Mr. Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13920907647566015611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19838051.post-56763952741612871822009-07-27T21:58:09.660-05:002009-07-27T21:58:09.660-05:00the Packers will still have the best quarterback i...the Packers will still have the best quarterback in the NFC North this year.

They did last year, too. How did that work our for 'em??

For me, it doesn't matter one iota how offended Rosenfels or Jackson are. Neither has accomplished nearly enough to walk around with a chip on his shoulder.Brad Carlsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10443466836095058736noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19838051.post-41334953270569949432009-07-26T12:56:23.216-05:002009-07-26T12:56:23.216-05:00you may be right. discord is never good for team c...you may be right. discord is never good for team cohesion, and brett will be the source for much as he returns and sucks all the media air in the purple kingdom.Ginohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09606046924332159076noreply@blogger.com
