Interestingly enough, I was hired for my second job by another Mizzou J-School grad (for a non-journalism job), but it was based on the work I'd done. The next few jobs my alma mater didn't matter, nor was it a factor in my current position. Since that employer, however, is based in St. Louis, I run into a lot of Mizzou grads. I guess it helps. MSP is a secondary market for young people, so I don’t get that many inquiries.
