He was clear, concise, made outstanding points, made sense, was thoughtful and respectful---in other words, he's going to be trashed as a hate-filled religious fanatic by liberals.

This nonsense is what the Archbishop was referring to by "in democracies, we elect public servants, not messiahs."

I think it's funny how certain segments of the population talk about "messianic treatment" as if it's accepted truth - by more than just a small segment of conservatives.

Amanda,

Click on that link for Currency Lad (he's an Australian blogger that I admire). And just click through the links he provides. You tell me what it means....

LOL! I hadn't seen those pictures. But that's just being silly. He has to stand in front of that seal A LOT. Someone is bound to be at the right angle. And don't think some of it isn't tongue-in-cheek! And to explain what I was referring to - I am specifically thinking of the some of the commentary out here in the web, which is dedicated to cynically referring to Obama as Jesus...

Amanda,

Two things:

1) W. was president for 8 years. I don't think I ever saw an image of him with the presidential logo around his head to look like a halo. Put it this way -- I hope that you are correct and that those pictures are tongue in cheek.

2) There's a link on my sidebar called "Obama Messiah." Check that out and you'll see further evidence of why I'm not so sure the pictures are tongue in cheek.
