At the junction
I was living in New Mexico back in the late 90s when Johnson was entering his second term and doing a darn fine job at this whole "being governor" thing. It's been a shame to watch him self-immolate his political talents faster than a Buddhist Monk ever since. Johnson could have been an effective Libertarian-style senator but chose instead to spend a decade outside the political limelight. His nascent Republican presidential bid was amateurish on its best day and it appears little has changed since he switched political affiliations.I remember much being made of former Rep. Bob Barr's 2008 Libertarian bid - and he got .4% of the vote (Nader actually got more votes). I doubt Johnson will do significantly better come this November.
