Schiff for Brains

He's a beauty:
The ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee was the victim of a prank phone call by Russian comedians who offered to give him 'compromising' dirt on Donald Trump – including nude photos of the president and a Russian reality show star.

DailyMail.com can disclose that after the prank, his staff engaged in correspondence with what they thought was a Ukrainian politician to try to obtain the 'classified' material promised on the call.

On an audio recording of the prank call posted online, Adam Schiff can be heard discussing the committee's Russia investigation and increasingly bizarre allegations about Trump with a man who claimed to be Andriy Parubiy, the chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament.

The call, made a year ago, was actually from two Russian comedians nicknamed 'Vovan' and 'Lexus' who have become notorious for their phony calls to high-ranking American officials and celebrities, including UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and Elton John.

Its existence was first reported by The Atlantic but not how a staff member working for the minority on the House Intelligence Committee pursued the information after the call.
Schiff claims he knew all along it was a prank. But if you know it's a prank, why do you stay on the phone for 8 minutes? Wouldn't you hang up immediately? And why would you send your staff back for a follow-up if you knew it was a prank? Listen for yourself -- it's comedy gold, Jerry:

A reminder for you -- if Donald Trump Jr. talks to Russians about getting dirt on Hillary Clinton, it could be a felony and certainly worthy of the attention of Robert Mueller. If Adam Schiff talks to Russians about getting dirt on Donald Trump, it's copacetic.

Or copra-cetic.

I don't mind this one that much. I've personally made a report to police when a friend of my daughter's threatened suicide, and the officer quickly came to the conclusion that it was just drama queen behavior. I'd suspected it, too, but an hour in the PD beats the heck out of going to a funeral in the case I was wrong. The girl is fine, of course, and in the same way, I don't begrudge Schiff for 8 minutes listening to BS, since on the odd chance there was some there there, he could have at least defused an opportunity for blackmail.

What bothers me about Schiff is how he's running interference for a clearly corrupt group in the FBI, making asinine comments about how the use of an untested dossier funded by opposition politicians doesn't violate the rules of issuing warrants. To me, that suggests that had there been some real nude pictures of Trump, they'd have come out in the 2018 election cycle.

That's what bothers me about Schiff. Any club to beat my enemy, more or less.

Schiff has never been a clean dude. but this brings up the question: since we now have proof that Schiff was trying to collude with Russian agents to undermine our democracy, shouldnt we have another investigation? who knows what he may have done that we dont know about?

Yep. There's a lot of stuff flying around today. It's getting interesting. I remain convinced that the race is on -- can Mueller find a way to hang Trump before the whole thing blows up and everyone in the Obama Justice Department gets blown up with it?

The Russians are teasing the Dems as if they were starving dogs - dangling pieces of meat, knowing they’ll leap at it. Hilarity ensues.

I guess i don’t begrudge Schiff giving the Russians 8 minutes; I hear he talked to Carmen at Card-holder Services for 12.

if they succeed in bringing down Trump, this war may get real. I've got the ammo to lend a hand.

I think that Gino may be right. I think that if Trump lost people would've taken to the streets with guns. I'm pretty sure that if Trump isn't allowed to finish his term, or terms that it could possibly still happen. But I will ask this of Gino especially as he seems to have a good pulse on how many feel in this country at the moment. Would Pence be an acceptable replacement if Trump were brought down for jaywalking, or whatever the left tries to pin on him?

Gino said...

No. Pence is a good man. But he ain't no Trump.

I dunno if people would have taken to the streets had Trump lost in Nov. 2016. Most of those who voted for him, myself included, didn't expect him to win, and we were prepared to suck it up with the most corrupt President since Obama. (most corrupt ever, of course)

But now the veil has come off the deep state and the media, and I do think a lot of people would respond very badly if he were removed from office on a chicken-shit charge.

That said, I'm not entirely worried, because Trump seems to have a knack for letting scandals develop among his persecutors, scandals that are getting legs. It is as if he's got friends at the favorite bars of the FBI, State Department, Washington Post, and CNN. Let the veil be lifted!

We've been at war for decades already... And I'm tired of cedeing ground to those who make are democracy a sham. The sooner the shooting starts, the sooner it be properly resolved.

You may be at that point where you are, but I don't think we're anywhere near that point in most of the country. But I can't rule out things going that way, sadly.

not in most of the country, of course. fully 1/2 the electorate is happy that their side controls everything, even when they lose.

but one 'Cliven Bundy' type scenario, with the right players, in the right place... it only takes a spark to start a wildfire.

Right, but if that one side controls everything, then the wildfire will be put down with great force.

That's why we have a second amendment. It won't be pretty.

The question is whether the deep state actually controls everything. Yes, they have the great portion of the bureaucracy, but I'm guessing that if that bureaucracy told the military to start shooting at their own families, there might be, say, some morale problems.

Been awhile since I've been to the blog. The title of this post made me snort-laugh. Thank you.
