This summer, I hear the drumming:
Staffers and allies of President Donald Trump face a new normal in today’s heated political environment: the potential for harassment and protests anywhere they show their faces — both in their public and private lives.I know I blogged about this yesterday, but this needs to stop now. And some smarter Democrats realize it:
Democratic California Rep. Maxine Waters shocked political observers over the weekend by encouraging liberal mobs to harass Trump officials at restaurants, gas stations and even at home.
“Already you have members of your cabinet that are being booed out of restaurants,” We have protesters taking up at their house who are saying, ‘No peace, no sleep. No peace, no sleep,'” Waters told a liberal crowd on Saturday, pledging to “win this battle.”
“If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd,” the congresswoman added. “And you push back on them. Tell them they’re not welcome any more, anywhere!”
Pelosi urged caution Monday about expanding the protests against Trump Cabinet members beyond official events. Linking to an article about Waters’ comments, Pelosi took to Twitter to urge civility.I doubt Schumer can manage the "well informed" part, but he can get the other two. But the Dems have unleashed forces they can no longer control, which Schumer also realizes. We've already seen what happened to Steve Scalise. It's inevitable that some SJW is gonna make someone a martyr. And when that happens, it's going to get really ugly.
“Trump’s daily lack of civility has provoked responses that are predictable but unacceptable. As we go forward, we must conduct elections in a way that achieves unity from sea to shining sea," she said.
Other high-profile Democrats, like former Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod, called it counter-productive.
“Disgusted with this admin’s policies? Organize, donate, volunteer, VOTE! Rousting Cabinet members from restaurants is an empty and, ultimately, counter-productive gesture that won’t change a thing,” he said in a tweet.
Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer of New York went even further on the Senate floor Monday, saying that copying the president’s abusive tactics isn’t the answer.
"No one should call for the harassment of political opponents. That's not right. That's not American," he said. “The president's tactics and behavior should never be emulated. It should be repudiated by organized, well informed and passionate advocacy."

These people don't get that it's wrong, only that it's going to hurt them. They say that Democrats shouldn't emulate Trump. That's idiotic. They are the ones being imitated - in some limited fashion.
Oh, yes, a lack of civility is all Trump's fault. I certainly remember Trump saying something about bringing a gun when others have a knife, stuff like that.
Oh, wait, that was Obama. Never mind. Carry on.
Somehow I'm hoping someone gets through to Waters by saying "Maxine, I've got a message for you from a Dr. King......"
"Other than that, Mssr. Robespierre, how did you like the Revolution?"
Conduct elections in a way that achieves unity from sea to shining sea? The only way you do that is with tanks. Lots and lots of tanks.
Remember being lectured, in October of 2016, about how un-American it is to say that you're not going to abide by the results of the election?
Mad Maxine, as she is often called, represents the district that i grew up in. she talks like this all the time, but this time she got caught.
she was also instrumental in egging on the Rodney King Riots in 1991, running through the streets shouting 'No justice, No peace!'
thats right...as congressperson, cheering on the break down of law and civility while her district burned.
the current situation will not improve. the progressive DNA only sees results. they dont see value in democratic processes or debate. it will only get worse, and shots will be fired again.

Here's a taste: look at the response to the Red Hen restaurant bouncing Huckabee. I'm sure most of the protesters that came to the restaurant wanted to make a civil point about double-standards and political correctness, but more than a few fell into right-wing cliches (who were, of course, the ones featured in the media). The edges are getting pretty edgy out there.
The genie has been decanted, and when Schumer (that white-male, man-splaining racist) critiqued Maxine Waters the other day it still sounded pretty much like Kenneth Mars in Young Frankenstein to me:
