Why does any Republican sit down for an interview with Bob Woodward? Under any circumstances? I don't think Woodward's latest broadside against Trump is going to make much of a difference, but seriously, Woodward has been in the business of screwing Republicans for nearly 50 years, and yet Trump and the rest of the politicians take his calls and sit for interviews with the guy.
Don't understand it.

1. Presidents start thinking how history will treat them. That's nothing new. I think they believe that certain authors with "authority", large sales, credentials and track records. Will have their books on the shelves a lot longer then others. Thus enhancing the future former President's impact etc. Some great writers of the past are forgotten, some our not. Woodward and Watergate has had a seriously long half-life.
2. Donald J. Trump is a New Yorker, with a New Yorker's desire to be at the center of attention. He has been hungry for NY attention for 40 years. He has generally feasted on it.
3. Nixon- DJT has mentioned him many times. DJT formative years of politics were the Nixon years. Woodward brings him in to contact with the past, and one of the men who brought RMN down.
