First Jeremiah Wright, then Michael Pfleger, now the entire Trinity United Church of Christ gets thrown under the bus. Scott Johnson at Powerline has an excellent review of Senator Obama's jettisoning of inconvenient truths. There's little else to add. Just read it.
One thing I would say, though. Now that we understand that Barack Obama isn't some sort of transitional figure, but is simply another politician who will do whatever he thinks is expedient (sort of like his opponent for the nomination), we can drop the risible premise that Obama represents a different, more transcendent form of politics. Now, maybe we can judge Obama on the basis of his experience, his increasingly protean views and the political platform of his party. In other words, by the standards that we have always used to evaluate candidates for the most powerful position on earth.
