It's former White Sox great (and Brewers great) Bob Coluccio. Now I know where Robert Smigel got his look for those "Da Bearz" skits on Saturday Night Live. More amusing 70s players on the way.

The red pinstripes was always my personal favorite of all the Whitesox uniforms. My Dick Allen shirt from the early 70's is one of my prized posessions. He was my favorite player of the era. Do you remeber the SI cover that had Allen juggling in the dugout with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth? You won't see that again anytime soon.
I remember that cover very well. I'll bet it's out on the Internet somewhere; I'll have to go post that, too.
This is beginning to turn into a Sox retrospective this week. Not that I mind that - since my beloved Appleton Foxes were a White Sox farm for all those years, I saw a lot of those guys coming up - Gossage, Bucky Dent, Lamar Johnson, LaMarr Hoyt, Harold Baines, Ron Kittle, Trout, Britt Burns and of course another SI cover subject, the immortal Harry Chappas.

A Dick Allen throwback? Now that is cool.
