Fifty years ago
Two albums were released at this time in 1966 -- Dylan's Blonde on Blonde and the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds. Amazing albums both, in their own ways. A sample of each -- first, the most beautiful song Brian Wilson ever wrote, and one of the best:

I never could get into Pet Sounds. It just doesn't sound right to me. But Blonde on Blonde? That's right nice.
I love 'em both, but the best record of '66 was (IMHO) Revolver, which came out in August. It was a great year for music.
