Not much to say, except that I'm praying for the folks on the Gulf Coast who are in the path of Hurricane Harvey, which looks like it's going to be a bad one. Talk amongst yourselves; I've thrown out a tune at the outset -- meanwhile, I'll also add some strangeness that Crankbait brought to my attention in a different context:
Read Animal Farm today. We're not in Soviet territory, but when I first read it before the Berlin Wall came down it was about THEM, the Soviets, the Evil Empire. Now, some 30 years later, it bears uncomfortably on our modern scene. Not the murderous purges, but the obvious, ridiculous lying to manipulate people. And there are still loads of people (my family) who give no indication that they know they're being lied to. I don't know what it will take.

Well, your family consists of four young children. They are easily lied to.
Heh. My siblings and parents were the ones in view.
