This ain't Havana

So said the Ramones. They weren’t talking about the Twins, of course, but given the sudden departures of Batista and Castro, it’s hard not to think a little of Havana this week. Not Fulgencio and Fidel, of course, but Tony Batista and Juan Castro, who have served as the left side (more irony) of the Twins infield for most of the season. Now both are gone in a week’s time. Jason Bartlett and Nick Punto are their putative replacements, but that may change, too. One thing has become apparent this week; Terry Ryan and the Twins front office are not afraid to make mid-course corrections. Meanwhile, the Twins swept the Red Sox and now are on their way to Pittsburgh and a look at a new ballpark that may give them a few ideas for their new digs. The Pirates are not that great, but PNC Park is gorgeous.
