Phillies fall to first place Royals, 8-2
Our Arden Hills Phillies struggled throughout their game on Thursday, losing 8-2 to the Royals, who remain alone in first place in the Junior Minor League with a glittering 11-0 record. There were opportunities to win the game throughout, but the steady Royals made key plays at key moments, while our heroes continued to struggle with piecing a rally together. My favorite Phillie was 1-1, ripping a hot shot through the Royal infield for a base hit in the 4th inning, along with drawing a walk in the 2nd. He also stole 3 bases. The loss brings the Phillies back to .500 for the season, with an overall record of 4-4-2. Next on the agenda is the Rockies, who will face our Phils at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lilly Pond in remote and mysterious Vadnais Heights.
