Give Me or Die

Bern, Baby, Bern:
Senator Bernie Sanders beat Hillary Clinton among nearly every demographic group in the Democratic New Hampshire primary, according to exit polls.

He carried majorities of both men and women. He won among those with and without college degrees. He won among gun owners and non-gun owners. He beat Mrs. Clinton among previous primary voters and those participating for the first time. And he ran ahead among both moderates and liberals.
Hillary Clinton is a terrible candidate. It's mind-boggling that she could lose in so many demographics, but there it is. Our guides in the MSM would prefer not to discuss Clinton's ethical challenges and serial dishonesty, but people understand it. The real question at this point is whether Barack Obama feels any need to continue protecting Madame Blue by slow-walking the investigations over her conduct at State.

Bernie Sanders is an idiot, but he's sincere. In a time of mendacity, that sort of thing stands out.

Meanwhile, we have The Donald:

Don't worry your pretty little heads about the details. We're gonna win so much, so fast, it'll be huge.

On to South Carolina.

Obama's Injustice Department will not indict Madame Hillary, because appointing her will then appear to have been a mistake, which The One can never possibly make. It would also open up the unacceptable question of "what did he know and when did he know it," which must never, ever be asked.

To me the more interesting question is, who are the Democrats going to suddenly discover eligible for the nomination, once they realize they neither of their current geriatric bunglers can win the general?

The democrats might want to draft trump.

Against the Republican field, that might be the best bet. And it would make both parties better, and save the GOPe from having to deal with him. Of course, if the GOPe really wanted to discredit Trump and drive him from the race, all they would have to do is get solidly behind him.

They have no bench, so any replacements (e.g., Biden, or Warren) will also be geriatric bunglers. I mean, think about it — who else would the Democrats run? Kerry? Gore? Schumer? Jerry Brown? Mark Dayton? They're trying to build a candidate out of Julian Castro, but seriously, his claim to fame was that he was a ceremonial mayor in a city with a city manager system. I can't think of a single Democrat out there who would be a plausible candidate.

The party of geriatric bunglers (and bundlers). Having become a bit of a student of the Velvet Revolution and the fall of Communism in the late 80s, I can't help but recall that when Brezhnev became old and senile the Party could only replace him with two other old, senile guys before Gorbachev took office. It's worth noting that Gorbachev was the first Soviet leader to come to power who hadn't been born before the October Revolution.

If Obama's JD indicts Hillary, it is going to be a sh*t-storm because her memory is suddenly going to get a lot better, especially in areas most damaging to the president. Frankly, I see a scenario where Trump doesn't get the Republican endorsement and announces he's going to run as a Democrat. He'd probably win - and then neither party could claim much of a hold on him so things could get really interesting (in the Chinese proverb meaning).

Not gonna happen. Too many states have "sore loser" laws and he wouldn't be able to get onto the ballot under that scenario. He's a Republican, for good or ill, in this cycle. That ship has sailed.

True, but it won't come to that. My guess is that the FBI director will go to Lynch and tell her that he's gonna resign in protest if she doesn't indict, at which point Obama will appoint a special prosecutor type who will slow walk it past the election. Still, I think Hillary won't be the nominee. The Dems can't chance it; enough damage has been done that she's essentially a dead pantsuit walking. Some amalgamation of Biden and Warren will ride to the rescue -- that's my guess.

Bernie won't be elected.

I think he bears trump in the general if nominated.

Bernie will never be nominated. If you want to know why, read this article.

I saw a piece the other day that said Biden has dallied too long to be the cavalry. It is too late for him to get on the ballot in enough states that something like 30% of the national delegates will be locked down before he could get in. And he would still have to compete with the other two for a while. Unless the Democrats change the rules and ignore the law, which is decidedly not unheard-of.

Scary how we're openly discussing how POTUS and the former SOSOTUS are crooks, but nobody is doing anything about it. The rule of law is evidently so passe'.

Despite Hillary's proclamation to the contrary, she and The One, for two, are simply above the law. The law is for you and me. They just ignore any law (or reason) they don't like. Now THAT is what is scary.
