Every time a bell rings, an alderman gets his bling:
"But if you're asking me do I see myself like a modern-day Frank Capra movie, and I'm the Jimmy Stewart or Gary Cooper character, a guy idealistically trying to do what's right for people, fighting a system, and then be pushed back? Yeah, I see myself that way."
Yep. Blago really said that. He's a regular Mr. Smith with a pompadour, that guy.

I find his media antics (and otherwise behavior in general) disgusting, but I have to say the quotes from those recorded calls seriously crack me up.
I would agree with Amanda: Blago appears to be almost criminally insane, but his comments are hilarious!
Of course he's funny, guys -- he's cartoonish. His lack of self-awareness is astonishing, too.
I met plenty of people like him when I lived in Chicago. It's one of the many paradoxes of the Windy City, since there are so many smart and resourceful people there, it's always boggled my mind that they continue to elect such low-rent politicians.
Unfortunately low rent politicians also tend to be high maintenance that is billed to the taxpayers.
