- From what I can tell, Tom Barrett didn't do anything to move the needle in last night's debate with Gov. Scott Walker. The unions are facing their Waterloo, so they won't go quietly, but from what I can tell Walker's supporters are equally motivated. While I don't think Tuesday's election will be the end of the story in Wisconsin, I'd be very surprised if Walker lost the election.
- John Edwards is likely to skate on the federal charges, now that he's been found not guilty on one charge and there is a mistrial on the others. I think that's okay. Edwards is pond scum and now everybody knows it. His political career is over, too. That's probably punishment enough. I look forward to his upcoming appearances on "Celebrity Apprentice" and the "Real Gigolos of Raleigh-Durham." Meanwhile, here's video of Edwards in action as he pursues his next Bunny Mellon.
- Tell me you didn't see this one coming. Morrie Lanning, the Moorhead "Republican" who helped ram through the Vaseline Dome, announced he won't be running for reelection. Gov. Dayton also mentions that he thinks Lanning would be "extremely well qualified" to be part of the new bureaucracy in charge of running the new Wilf family pleasure dome. Yes he is, Governor. Yes he is.

Not much time this morning, but a few thoughts:

There is no place called "Raleigh-Durham", except for the airport. Neither city wishes to claim the other.
More to the point, neither wish to claim Edwards, who lives in Chapel Hill.
:)
Mebbe Winston-Salem will take him....
I'm sure Winston-Salem feels as if they've done enough since the money Edwards siphoned from the tobacco companys' was likley used to pay for his defense in this trial.
