No matter what you think about abortion, or Roe v. Wade, or anything else, there was no defending this guy, who is a straight up monster. I have come to oppose the death penalty but it's cases like this that make it tough to maintain that stance.Former Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the deaths of three babies authorities said were born alive before having their necks cut with scissors. A jury found Gosnell not guilty of first-degree murder in a fourth baby’s death.
In addition to the murder charges, the 72-year-old was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the overdose death of former patient Karnamaya Mongar.
Gosnell was also found guilty of several other crimes including one count of infanticide, two counts of conspiracy, 21 of 24 counts of abortion of an unborn child of 24 weeks or more and 208 of 227 counts of violation of informed consent of an abortion.
In all, Gosnell was found guilty of 237 crimes. He will now face the death penalty in the sentencing phase, which will begin a week from Tuesday.
The link, which comes from NBC News in Philadelphia, provides a very good synopsis of the particulars of Gosnell's many, many crimes. You should read it all, although I think most people would find the particulars horrifying.

all of this occurred while abortion was 'safe, legal, and rare'... in philadelphia... am i right?
i oppose abortion, straight up and all ways, i admit that...
but still.. if one supports legal and safe abortions (the Catholic Friend of yours)... this should create a pause in thought...
or maybe just an excuse/explanation of sorts...
still... monsters are monsters... they will do monstrous things... legal, or not.
and these monsters will be defended by those who do NOT believe themselves to be monsters... while defending their right to do monstrous things.
fact is:
if you support abortion rights, you are pro-abortion.
and you support grosnell's actions.
he is a monster, or he is not.
fact is: you are no better than he.
you might even be lesser than He, because at least he had the stones to act upon it...
let it be said, that Grosnell's actions are no different than the policy Obama himself has voted for and defended.
Spot on, Gino.
I've got to admit that I've enjoyed, in a morbid humor, the claims from the pro-infanticide left that somehow Gosnell's crimes are the fault of pro-lifers. As if Gosnell couldn't afford a few biohazard bags and some trained staff with the quarter million bucks in cash they found in his home.
Where's Ace Commenter Rich to proclaim, on behalf of Kermit Gosnell and his defenders: "Have you no decency?"
Instructions haven't come in yet on this one, R.A.
