No thanks on Hoover. Good man who was great at charity, but the exact same instincts made him an abysmal President who changed a "panic" that should have lasted a year or two into a twelve year depression. Instinct; to help, no matter what the cost. Good thing when you're writing the checks out of your own account that you've earned by the sweat of your brow, bad thing when you're spending someone else's money.
