Home Truth

The always brilliant Doctor Zero zeroes in:

The only guarantee you have that ObamaCare will provide the promised benefits, and remain within its boundaries, is the trust you place in the word of Barack Obama and his party… and your faith in future politicians who have yet to be elected.
Talk about a faith-based initiative. What's a more likely scenario?

It would be a horrible mistake to accept a deal with the creators of history’s most staggering natonal debt, based on assurances they will place your interests ahead of theirs, for decades to come. As Darth Vader memorably explained to Lando Calrissian, the State can always alter the terms of the deal, and your only recourse will be praying they don’t alter it any further.
Damn straight. Read the whole thing.

This is me waving a BS flag at the line concerning the creators of the current debt. *Again* the debt is to the credit of REPUBLICANS, not Democrats! He's only been in power a measely year, folks!

Which basically subverts the entire point of this particular "Obamacare is bad and evil" argument.

That's why I said to read the whole thing, Amanda. He doesn't spare the Republicans at all. Hit that link and see for yourself.

Amanda, how can you say the democrats haven't added to the debt? Kool-aid much?

The spending during the Bush administration was out of control; Obama doubled down and then doubled down again.

....

Why you can't trust Obama:
He promised in the SOTU campaign speech that he wanted an up or down vote on the health care takeover. (Which might first require a cloture vote in the Senate.)

Now he wants to ram it down our throats via the bill "deemed" as passing without a final vote.

Amanda, can't you see that Emperor Obama has no clothes?

Amanda, the Bush deficit after 8 years was $400 billion; an amount the Democrats bemoaned as unconscionable during the campaign. Even before healthcare reform, the latest Obama budget was running at around $1.2 trillion after just one year in office.

Oh well, at least the stimulus plan kept us from reaching nearly 10% unemployment, as promised. And we've saved money by getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan, as promised.

I'd wave the BS flag, too, but this smells much worse.

I know! That's what makes it so damn impressive. Imagine what he could do with eight full years.

Amanda, it's worth considering in advance how you are going to blame Republicans for the coming health care debacle. Will it be because the reform didn't go far enough? Or perhaps Republican intransigence forced all of these dirty deals that the Democrats didn't really want? Or maybe it will be some kind of profit motive that wasn't entirely stamped out and demands further government control? I'm sure you'll find some way to shift the blame and to avoid coming to grips with the very plain fact that Democrats are corrupt and incompetent boobs whose only saving grace is that Republicans are often little better.

The Democrats voting for this catastrophe have pretty well kissed their political careers goodbye. And all must have bad backs for carrying Obama's water on this issue. With that in mind, I guess it's a good thing Congressional pensions would be exempt from Obamacare
