About 6-7" of snow on the ground this morning, which means a particularly ugly commute for me. So whatever deep thoughts I might have to offer this morning will have to wait. Feel free to offer your own deep thoughts. I will throw out this wisdom from Steven Wright:
Everywhere is within walking distance if you have the time.

It's an interesting thought: time as opening up infinite possibility. A million monkeys can type the works of Shakespeare, nothing can become something can become the roiling sea can become amphibians can become the Baltimore Ravens.
Actually, in our conception it often goes beyond merely opening up possibilities, it actually performs them. "Time heals all wounds," for example.
Or sometimes it's a bit ambiguous: the three part plan.
Step 1: Make coffee in the morning.
Step 2: ????
Step 3: Profit!!
Time is magical. One need only have enough of it and anything can happen whether by time's agency or through its potential.
Except, of course, that it's nonsense. Time doesn't open up limitless possibility, but limited possibility. That which is possible can happen given enough time, not that which is not possible. Nor does time have purpose unless it is imbued with it.
So is everywhere within walking distance given enough time? No. Only places to which one can possibly walk.

I just got skylights in my place. The people who live above me are furious.

And how! :)
Time for the wit and wisdom of Henny Youngman:
My other brother-in-law died. He was a karate expert, then joined the army. The first time he saluted, he killed himself.
Brian, that's another one of my fave Steven Wright lines.
"Ihave a first class Sea Shell Collection. Perhaps you've seen it. I keep it scattered throughout the beaches of the world"
Alright, I'm not buying this "I don't have time to blog because it's snowing in Minnesota" stuff...it's plainly clear that you slipped down to Caracas to take care of some business.
You really want to win that dead pool, don't you?

All I can say is this -- Hesburgh and Seeger better watch their backs.
"You really want to win that dead pool, don't you?"
he's hit 2 of 5 in 60 days... the bastard...
if this keeps up, he'll be getting some of our picks offed as well...

Well, 3 of 5, actually. Not that I'm counting. ;)
