No plan

Good to know:
President Obama said Monday the United States does not have a complete plan to train and equip Iraqi forces to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), saying Baghdad needs to show a greater commitment to building a fighting force.
“We don’t yet have a complete strategy,” Obama told reporters during a news conference at the G-7 summit of leading industrial nations in Germany.

Obama’s comments are a surprising admission nine months into the U.S.-led coalition’s campaign against the terror group.
Are you surprised?

The best plan for ISIS is to contain it and let it play out... it keep the persians occupied, too.

That, and id arm the shit out of the kurds.

It's interesting that Mr. Obama is talking about having a complete plan, which no sane person demands. No battle plan survives initial contact with the enemy, after all. Rather, all that is needed here is a basic premiss that would guide action and the willingness to act in accordance with that premiss.

Something real simple, like "when you're hacking the heads off thousands of innocents, including U.S. citizens, and endangering the security of sovereign allies to the U.S., we will make an effort to preserve innocent life by helping you assume room temperature."

I think Mr. Obama is getting too sophisticated for his own good, not to mention too sophisticated for the good of thousands of innocents in that area.
