Justice Kavanaugh

A quick sum-up:
  • He needed to be seated because if the Democrats and their allies had got by with this, we'd be endorsing screaming mob rule and abdicating due process. That would have been a disaster.
  • I'm not a fan of Kavanaugh's jurisprudence. I am hoping that his most recent experience will chasten him a bit on the value of the 4th Amendment. Guess we'll find out.
  • I think this was a moment of clarity for the nation, though. Everyone was paying attention and now a lot of people see how the Democrats behave. Lindsey Graham said it best:

  • I'm not aware of any Democrat who has publicly expressed any misgivings about throwing due process out the window. Perhaps there is one, but that individual was not on the stage in Washington this month. The Democratic Party, as it is currently comprised, is corrupt to the core. It must be defeated at every turn. This does not mean the Republican Party is a force for good; far from it. But the malevolence on display throughout this saga demonstrates conclusively that the Democrats are unfit for public office.

i never thought that Lindsey Graham would become a Braveheart. John McCain's death has been good for the nation, because it freed up Graham from being his bitch.

give credit to Trump. He fights, and he fought where previous republicans would have folded. He forced the democrats to show themselves for who they are, and the GOP, as of this day, has become Trump's bitch... even W (NeverTrump, Hillary supporter) was working the phones on behalf of Trump's nominee.

thats right... the Bush's were marching to Trump's drum.

Trump, to quote his son, 'He is the most amazing man'...

damn glad to have Trump on our side.
he dont quit.
he fights.
He fights according to his rules, fights to win, and not some silly queensbury rules.

I try not to believe in conspiracies. But with how effeminate a man named Lindsey is, that maybe someone does have some dirt on him not being into women. But like most republicans he claims to dislike Trump and the policies, but votes with Trump at either a 100% rate or very close to it. I can't imagine that it'd go well with the voters of South Carolina that their senator likes men.

And W campaigning for Trump's pick can't be a good sign. He's not doing it out of the goodness of his heart, or because he's changed his evil ways. He's doing it because he likes BK. And if he likes him that can't be good for those that hate the establishment and their policies.

But so many on the hard right seem to think that Trump's on their side. Trump's on his side. If it lines up with what you'd like then he's on your side. The man isn't a millionaire from Manhattan that pretended to act like white trash for no reason. But so many fell for it and continue to do so. If it was just at their own risk that'd be fine. But it affects all of us

To think that any politician is on "my side" is a little ambitious, no? But doesn't saying that about a politician mean that he generally does things as I'd like him to? And if so, Trump is definitely on my side. Certainly more so than any Democrat. And far more than either of the Bushes. People like me have been frustrated for years over how our pols don't fight for what they say they'll fight for. Expedience is strong with them. Well, Trump fights - and he fights for the stuff that I want him to. God bless him.

I believe this is what's called an "open secret." It's not really a factor.

what difference does it make? he supports the right policies, and took a stand in working with Trump from Day 1.
Lindsey has become Trump's wingman in the senate. He doesnt back down from it.

I'm just glad he's not sucking McCain anymore. I need all the allies i can get to bring labor jobs back to this country.

One could make an argument that this was the end result of Mitch McConnell et al holding firm in 2016. When McConnell vowed to not have a hearing for Justice Scalia's replacement until after the 2016 election, it was no small factor in getting anti-Trump GOP voters to don a HazMat suit and vote Trump that November. I fully expected Republicans to cave (as had been their wont) and thus have a hearing for Merrick Garland in 2016. However, they held firm even though Trump's election was far from a sure thing and the GOP Senate majority was already on shaky ground.

I don’t know whether it makes more sense to credit McConnell or Trump; I’m not sure it matters. What does matter is the Democrats and their many allies have revealed themselves to the world. And it matters that the Republicans of all stripes are starting to understand what the stakes are. The Republicans may or may not be fit to govern, but the Democrats are beyond the pale.
