Nobody does it better

Trump feeds the Clemson Tigers fast food and turns the outrage meter up to 11:

Have some
The sputtering rage on my social media feed was something to see. A representative sample:
REPREHENSIBLE. In America it has been customary for champions of any sport to be invited to the White House for a celebration. Prior to Jan 20, 2017 it was a high honor. Now that the criminal occupant of the WH is there, the ceremony is ridiculous. For the football national champions Clemson University, the “menu” is McDonalds, Burger King, and Wendy’s; fast food chains. There’s a 5 STAR CHEF at the White House, and this imbecile serves the champions junk food. Disgusting!!!!!!
It's all there. And you don't need to figure out which fork to use.

Well, there would have been more variety, but Trump ate all the KFC.

I wish he'd served Chik-Fil-A instead. That would have really gotten them going.

More proof that these elite snobs have no idea how these elite athletes eat.

Did Clemson visit on a Sunday? In that case, Chik-Fil-A was closed. If Hillary were president, I'd be afraid to eat anything set in front of me.

POTUS had mentioned that if all the hamburgers were stacked up, they'd be a "mile high." Some leftist site actually *fact checked* that statement and wound up concluding there's no plausible way there could be that many hamburgers in that banquet room.

This once again validates the sentiment that Trump's greatest asset is the utter lunacy of his most fervent detractors.

what isnt being reported: what did past presidents lay out for the champs?

and... one of the reasons i felt so much connection to Trump was his preponderance for ordering KFC while campaiging for president.
let us not forget: Bill Clinton's fetish for McDonalds was supposed to be a positive (to the media) while he campaigned in 92.

Trump supporters are a lot smarter than most liberals think, /assuming/ liberals think at all. Trump supporters know that "mile high" is figuratively saying "a lot of hamburgers." And they literally know the meaning of the word "literally."

It still comes down to Salena Zito’s spot-on observation about Trump – his detractors take him literally, but not seriously. His supporters take him seriously, but not literally.

Oooh.....and Trump used the whole deal to make fun of the Democrats about the shutdown, which furloughed a lot of White House staff. Noteworthy as well is I haven't read about any Tigers refusing to come, either. Silent majority seems to be speaking.

I personally would prefer something a touch classier than Chez Mac and such, or even than Chick-Fil-A, but I get it. I'm guessing Dabo Swinney does as well, though I wouldn't fault him if he cringed to see this nice little departure from the training table I'm sure they maintain for the team.

Not during a government shutdown.

Also, I'm not sure the WH has fed its visitors in the past. This wasn't a state dinner.

In other news, former President Barack Obama takes credit for Clemson becoming national champs.

Well at least it distracted from the narrative being about how maybe if the athletes weren't slave labor how they could afford their own fast food. And he should've put out the KFC. If he had would it have changed to it being about how racially insensitive it was to serve chicken to what would be a lot of black folk. Or am I being a racist for speculating that there are a lot of black folk on the team?

I can only imagine the mayhem that would ensue if he'd fed them along the lines of a state dinner. Most of the players would never have heard of, let alone tried, half the items on the menu, and there'd be several rounds of wine available for a team that is mostly under the legal age. And then there's the cost, and the prospect of the team breaking a good portion of the White House china.

I'm sure previous Presidents have served refreshments to the team--it's a good idea simply to get good pictures of guys who have had to go through DC traffic and White House security--but the brouhaha over this is just sad.
