Deadlock under the lights
The mighty Arden Hills Phillies rallied from a 4-1 deficit with 3 runs in the 6th inning to tie a scrappy Centennial Blue Jays squad under the lights at Lexington Park last night. Again, the Phils demonstrated strong pitching, as all three Phillies pitchers struck out at least four Blue Jay batters apiece during their respective two-inning stints. Hitting and fielding are coming along, although fielding opportunities have been sporadic due to the dominance of the pitchers. The son of this author took had a rough night at the plate, fanning twice as he struggled to adjust to the Blue Jay pitching, which was considerably slower than what teams typically see in Shoreview league play. The Phillies next take the field tomorrow against the Angels, with game time at 6 p.m. at Lambert Park in lovely Mounds View. Your faithful correspondent will be there, as always!
