Phillies top Giants 13-5, prepare for Twins, Cubs

The mighty Arden Hills Phillies turned in perhaps their most dominant performance of the season yesterday, defeating the Giants 13-5 at Lambert Park in Mounds View. Strong pitching and a consistent hitting attack were the story, as the Giants were only able to score in two of the six innings played. My son was 0-2 but drove in an RBI with a bases-loaded walk as part of a 4 run 5th inning.

The win brings the Phillies' record to 3-2, with an earlier tie. They will return to action on Tuesday against a formidable Twins ballclub. Game time is 6 p.m. at Turtle Lake Elementary in Shoreview. The Cubs tilt will be Thursday, June 1, also at 6 p.m. at Silver Oaks in New Brighton.
