The FBI has begun looking into the security of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s private e-mail setup, contacting in the past week a Denver-based technology firm that helped manage the unusual system, according to two government officials.I wouldn't find this particularly reassuring, either:
Also last week, the FBI contacted Clinton’s lawyer, David Kendall, with questions about the security of a thumb drive in his possession that contains copies of work e-mails Clinton sent during her time as secretary of state.
The FBI’s interest in Clinton’s e-mail system comes after the intelligence community’s inspector general referred the issue to the Justice Department in July. Intelligence officials expressed concern that some sensitive information was not in the government’s possession and could be “compromised.” The referral did not accuse Clinton of any wrongdoing, and the two officials said Tuesday that the FBI is not targeting her.The FBI is not targeting her yet. That comes later. As we mentioned yesterday, the most important thing to remember about the Leader of the Free World is that he is a Chicago politician. Among other traits that Chicago politicians share, he is willing to wait until the right moment to drop the bomb. Mrs. Clinton might want to ask David Petraeus about that.
What is the end game? Hard to know, but one thing seems increasingly clear -- Barack Obama does not want his successor to be Hillary Clinton.

Looks like theyre going after Huma first, who the Clintons will throw under the bus like do.
Note that they're allowing the tech firm to talk--this could be the beginning of rightful prosecution, or it could be a coverup. I would have guessed that the mere presence of classified material on a server and a *(&)( thumb drive would be grounds for prosecution.
Not that I'm bummed if the Obamas bump off Hilliary this way, but I think there's more to this than just that.
I doubt it's a coverup to benefit Hillary, BB. Chicago politicians will tolerate corruption among their underlings until it becomes problematic. Obama doesn’t trust Hillary to protect him after he’s left office, so she must be destroyed. And the side benefit? If the Clinton machine is destroyed, it clears a lot of space for the Obama machine to scoop up all those sweet, sweet bribes disguised as speaking fees that Bill and Hill have been pocketing for the last 16 years.
And Joe Biden will make Obama look brilliant by comparison.

RA: you can say that again! :^)
Regarding the coverup, I don't think it's to protect Hilliary, either. I think it's to protect Barack and his legacy. He needs to discredit Hilliary enough so she doesn't succeed him in the Oval Office, but not enough so that the whole nation thrashes Democratic legislators again. More or less, I think his goal is to preserve 41 Democrats in the Senate that will stop the outright repeal of the Health Insurance Deform Act.
Another way of looking at this; independent analysts have found classified material on Hilliary's emails. Now if the DOJ were really interested in prosecution, they'd have the server and every computer system in Hilliary's mansion so quickly it would make your head spin. Two days later, you would have either (a) an indictment for destroying official records or (b) an indictment for mishandling classified information.
The trouble is that Dear Leader got messages every day from that server, and his security team would be in heap big trouble, and the Democratic façade of competence would be shattered. So my hunch is that Dear Leader is trying to thread the needle finely enough to take Hilliary out, but without resulting in a debacle in the elections that would make 2010 look like child's play.

Trouble from whom? The media won't report it and he controls the Justice Department. He can do what he'd like to Hillary, but he has nothing to worry about as long as he remains in office.

Pretty much exactly my argument, actually. He can do anything to Hilliary short of actually prosecuting her fully for what she's done. If he does that, then "discovery" shows a whole rat's nest of deals he's made that even MSNBC won't be able to ignore.
And then good luck keeping 41 Senators in 2017.
Yeah -- I don't think there will be much "discovery," BB, at least as far as Obama is concerned. He can use the Justice Department as a weapon, leaking what he wants leaked and covering up what he wants covered, throughout the rest of his term. He'll surely protect the Democrats running for Congress as well. Then, after the election is over, I'm pretty sure he'll use his pardon powers quite liberally as he walks out the door, but I'd be willing to wager that he will most pointedly not pardon Hillary, just as a lovely parting gift. The Leader of the Free World is, like all Chicago politicians, a remarkably vindictive man.
It will all come out in the end, but it will be via the historians, not his loving, protective press.
I don't know how much will come out. Records seem to be mysteriously disappearing a lot--far more data than 18 minutes of audio tape, if you catch my drift.
Oh, it will come out. If nothing else, the Chinese have copies.

Just imagine:Blagojevich out of prison - and Hillary in!

Seriously, that will come out if and when it is of interest to the Chinese (or whoever) to release it, no? And whatever else you can say about the past few years, it's been good for the Chinese establishing a degree of hegemony over their sphere of influence. Why mess with a good thing?
