Why do I believe Trump is going to win? Because enough people recognize the last four years have been less about Trump's policies than about the reaction to him.
I cannot recall a day in which some news outlet, somewhere, has excoriated the Bad Orange Man. I cannot recall a day when Chuck Schumer, or Nancy Pelosi, or some other grandee, has avoided a lectern. The signal to noise ratio is off the charts. We had this:

Trump is a bullshit artist. The Democrats are liars. If the American people let the Democrats get by with their behavior without some form of reckoning, it's going to get really ugly.

A couple of months ago I frankly thought the race was already over for DT. I had gone over all of the electoral numbers and just could not see DT winning. Then he had his first debate performance and I knew it was over. DT got to show himself in all of his narcissistic and hateful glory and you could feel the nation recoil from him. Though Biden did not necessarily have the best debate performance, he at least seemed credible and had some sort of empathetic heart. Plus, his "Shut up, man!" quote was perfect as someone should have been saying that to DT long ago.
The bottom line for DT is he doesn't care. He doesn't care about you. He doesn't care about me. He doesn't care about the people who died from COVID-19. He only cares about himself and that is the bottom line. Well, maybe he cares about Ivanka. But not DJTJ or Eric - and certainly not Tiffany. And that lack of caring is what has been his downfall. As soon as he turned his back on people with COVID-19, saying it was like the flu, would go away and his ever popular phrase, "we are rounding the corner on COVID-19" people started to back away from him.
People care about living and their money so when people started to see their family members dies, refrigerated trucks having to be hauled in to hold the dead bodies and no coherent strategy to fight COVID-19, the first shoe dropped. Then when the "greatest economy ever" (which it isn't, but I think y'all know that) started to fail then the 2nd shoe dropped. And then it was only a matter of time before DT's chances were gone.
I believe DT knew a while ago he was losing - which is why he is fighting for his life right now. Because if he loses he will have to face numerous lawsuits and will owe over $400 million to creditors and whatever he owes Putin. He will be branded a loser and leave office as a rightly impeached President who was responsible for thousands of deaths. His presidency will be an example of what not to be as a president or as a human being.
To round out my rambling thoughts, I have seen this election in 3 phases. 1) DT will lose in a landslide, the Dems will take over the Senate and the Dems will increase their hold on the House.
2) Try to insure between November 3rd and January 21st that DT and his minions do not attempt to do anything extremely stupid to bring down the country anywhere more than they already has.
3) January 21st, Biden, Harris and the Dems will begin their plans and the NY AG (and many others) will start their agendas against DT & his family. The first group will abolish the filibuster rule and begin passing legislation, they might go after Barr for whatever reason, they might impeach Kavanaugh as he may have lied about his finances during his confirmation hearing and they will use some if not many of the powers that DT used and they decried when he was doing it. They may even enlarge the SCOTUS and go after some of the judges DT and Moscow Mitch pushed through because some of them are completely not qualified. During this time the Trumpublicans will whine and shout that this is wrong, but no one will listen as they lost their moral compass 5 years ago when they kowtowed, enabled and began their fear of upsetting DT. As a friend of mine who used to work in the US Justice Department, was a federal prosecutor that never lost a case, is now an attorney @ Dorsey & Whitney and is a die-hard conservative Christian Republican stated: The Republican Party needs to be burned to the ground and built up only when the people in it decide to grow a moral and justice oriented conscience. He will be voting for Biden and Harris - and so will I.
As I said in the earlier post -- America is sitting together in a movie theater, but Americans are watching different movies. This idea is not mine, but it explains what's going on. You are describing a world and a worldview that I know exists, but does not comport with my experience or with anything I have actually observed over the last four years.
My only advice to you is this -- pay attention to how the campaigns have behaved in the last few weeks. Notice where the candidates have been and what they have been doing. And pay attention to the response the campaigns have received in the places they have been. It will help you to process what you're likely to see in the next few days.
A federal prosecute that's has never lost a case: it's called par. Feds never lose cases.

The boarding up isn’t happening in red states.

They don't need to board up the buildings in red states because those states will accept Barr's stormtroopers. And let's face it: the red states or red parts of the country have their own white supremacists' militia's so they are good there.
I forgot to add that to the agenda of the next presidency - assuming Biden wins - is going after white supremacists', militia's and the boys carrying tiki torches as they have had been emboldened by DT for the last 4 years. They are different than the evil Mexicans coming across the border as there are not good people on that side.
I am not sure exactly what you mean by watching where the campaigns are going. Biden already has the leads in most of the states and has what he needs to win. He is just preserving that lead and also trying to get some other states to win. Biden does not need Florida, Iowa or Ohio to win - provided he gets Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. And I believe those states are wrapped up. Even in spite of DT and his lawyers and anyone else on his side trying to take away people's voting rights.
The only responses I have seen to DT's super-spreader gatherings are DT saying things like "doctors get paid more to say their patients died from COVID", suggesting widespread voter fraud when there is none, making up what he has done in the last 4 years and leaving COVID-19 infections and related deaths as he feeds his ego.
