Meanwhile, playing in the kabuki theater

While I hate to interrupt the festivities taking place now as our fastidious liberal friends hit the Joe Wilson pinata with their kendo sticks, our good friend Bike Bubba reminds us of something else.

What say you, ye righteous portside commenters?

Charlie Rangel is an old douchebag who should be put out to pasture. And maybe the pasture should have bars on the windows.

BTW, I never attacked Wilson. In fact, I commended Wilson for his prompt apology. My only quibble was with your trying to pretend that there isn't a time and place for certain things. I have a mouth like a truck driver, but I don't think my young children have ever heard me swear. Maybe you think that makes me a hypocrite. Perhaps you'd be correct. But I am going to try to keep it that way because history, tradition and common sense tell me to.

Regards,
Rich

I have a mouth like a truck driver,

It's one of God's little jokes -- most Catholic boys I know (including me) are the same way.

And ultimately I agree with you, Rich. Still, surely you understand why it rankles conservatives to hear Democrats becoming so fastidious about what is said now, when much of the past 8 years were a free-fire zone. And that's the point I was trying to make over on the other thread, especially in my last comment.

As I said over at Bubba's:

As I recall, Republican senator Dave Durenberger was censured by the Congress for his real estate shading back in the day, though I think his transgressions were related to how he reported the use of his residences in D.C. and Minnesota; there's probably more there but it's been quite a few years. Rangel's activities seem to be on a larger scale. Let's see what happens.
