Home Truth

Sean Davis, writing for The Federalist, on the Kavanaugh War:
Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) made clear on CNN on Sunday that Kavanaugh does not deserve to be presumed innocent, notwithstanding the lack of any corroborating evidence of any of the allegations made against him, entirely because his political ideology and judicial philosophy do not align with those of the Democratic Party.

When asked whether Kavanaugh is entitled to the presumption of innocence, Hirono said, “I put his denial in the context of everything that I know about him in terms of how he approaches his cases.” Translation: he is guilty because of what he believes, not because of anything he’s actually done. Laverentiy Beria, Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin’s most trusted police inquisitor, who famously declared, “Show me the man, and I’ll show you the crime,” would surely applaud the totalitarian sentiment underlying Hirono’s statement.

If Kavanaugh is not safe from reputation- and career-destroying smears, no one is. Not you. Not your husband. Not your son, father, or brother. If they can destroy Kavanaugh, they can do it to anyone you love and trust, regardless of any mountains of facts or evidence to the contrary.
"Can" is the default position. "Will" is the next step. It won't get better unless the Left understands they can't get by with this behavior.

the Left plays the long game, the war of attrition. they never stop, refuse to abide by norms, and wear you down.
its to the point where few are willing to risk their reputations to put themselves up for consideration. soon, the 'list' of consitutional judges will be down to one or two, instead of the 15 Trump currently has.
in reality, the vast majority of judges in this country do follow the law/constitution. most of those stay on local courts, because they dont want the bullshit.

it will only stop when we destroy a few lives of their few good men too. do we have the stomach for it? i've been calling for it a long time.

part of the problem, the wussiness, lies within our ranks. the Never Trumpers, who prefered to lose amicably than win at all, need to be driven out.
Trump fights his enemy. they dont.

I don't know that I'd destroy the lives of "good men" among the Democrats, whoever they might be, but I'd be happy to see a few of the Democratic members of the Judiciary Committee, starting with Dianne Feinstein, get censured or expelled from the Senate. Disagreement is fine, bringing up matters is fine, but ignoring the rules of evidence and procedure is not.

Name five, Bubba.

:^) That's why I added "whoever they might be". I have some serious issues with the GOP, but it simply boggles my mind that anyone of sound mind and morals could caucus with the Democrats. And it seems that too many Democrats simply cannot even consider contrary information to their talking points. Just.plain.scary.

You're part of the problem, bubba. This is a war. Don't treat this as a policy debate. It isn't.

Gino’s right about this. The only way it stops is if the Left is beaten. Over and over and over. I wish we could ascribe goodwill to people on the Left, but those days are gone.

Wictor says, "electorally exterminated." Not just beaten. And I want to see Trump go after people like Brennan, Clapper, Sztrok and Comey. I want it to be tenacious and merciless. And I want Clinton and Obama brought into this. I want them exposed. I want them to scurry and dance and be forced to *try* to defend themselves. For too long they have been able to tell the ridiculous lie and skate. I want them under oath, in fear of prison. I want the press to scream bloody murder and go even further into hysterics as everything that they've worked for and sold their souls for gets reclaimed or destroyed by Trump. Where applicable, I'd love to seem some journalists go to jail. For too long the message has been, "the rules don't apply to everyone." Is 6 years enough to accomplish this? I sure hope so.

hey, remember when Roy Moore, the choice of AL conservatives to represent them, was tossed by the 'better' GOP guys? We are one Senator Flake from losing a SCOTUS pick as we speak.

its War.
start fighting.
I told you so.

Gino: there are laws of war. Recruits to the right side come more readily when we try to follow them.

That said, I want what our gracious host notes. Start with Lois Lerner, and hopefully we can even find out, and prosecute, how Michael Avenatti got those billing records. (very interesting how his midlife crisis is becoming a gadfly courtesy of a 2nd rate whore while both are going through divorces.....)

Bubba: the laws of war are set by the victor, because at the end of the day, who rules the land is all that matters. Thats what war is. to think otherwise makes you a loser.

recruits come from winning battles. nobody wants to join a losing army.

Yes. If this latest bullshit from Avenatti doesn't convince our starboard side friends what we're dealing with, I can't help them. The bridge is out on the high road, amigos. You have to defeat the scume where they are.

Or "scum."
