Everyone knows the Democrats and their ancillaries in the news media are acting like their hair is on fire. How do we know? Because it seems obvious. But what is obvious isn't necessarily true. Bob Woodward seems to be recycling the same stories, from the same unnamed sources, that Michael Wolff was peddling last year. But this time, we're supposed to believe the stories, because they come from Bob Woodward. We're being gaslighted 24/7. And maybe I'm gaslighting you.
If you can disorient someone sufficiently, they can't make sense of their world. That's the game for the next 60 days. Keep your wits about you.

It might not be strategy so much as incontinence. Or rather, it might well be Trump's strategy to drive them around the bend so that they portray themselves as utterly unfit for public office or responsibility of any kind.
Two months from now we'll have a pretty good idea. My metaphorical money is on Trump.

That would be a good strategy, except the gatekeepers in the media protect the crazies. On the local news last night, the only mention of the madness of the Kavanaugh hearing was the ever-eager local anchor mentioning, but not showing, that Amy Klobuchar had a key role. But none of the boorish behavior was actually shown. That’s where the gaslighting comes in. Kavanaugh is “controversial,” but it’s never explained why.
Can one really be a liar if they don't mean what they say? I learned that one from Trumpty Dumpty. And is someone a liar if they repeat someone else's lie? Is the American Left picking up tips from the one that they hold the most disdain for? As bad as Trumpster Fire is as far as just not doing a great job of representing the office, he might be a solid reflection of the nation that he resides over as the C o the B. I might be able to again accept him as such with his prefect fit for our Brave New America.

That's pretty much the definition of a liar.
I learned that one from Trumpty Dumpty.
More likely you learned it at J.R. Gerritts Middle School, or maybe Westside Elementary School.

If they know it's a lie, of course it's a lie.

More likely Trump picked it up from the Left than the other way around, but your mileage may vary.

The last scrupulously honest president we've had was probably Grover Cleveland. Trump is a less polished liar than his predecessors, but that's as much as a strategy as a statement of who he is.
Then the question is how aware is the person that's lying of what they're saying not to be true.
Ha. So true about JRGMS, but it's become habit again after being reminded of such behavior due to most politicians for so long. And from talking with MH about parents my mother is very comparable, and so I was more likely taught that from birth and on. Now the practice is no longer wrong if the POTUS does it.
Ignorance is not only bliss, but it can also be a powerful weapon when willful.
I agree that he's not any more of less corrupt that the same people that he works with in his new career.
It's very interesting that Cleveland is brought up. Only for the fact that he is from that area after Lincoln, and before Teddy that can be argued that there wasn't a decent president in between them. Agree or disagree we had it pretty good with who held the office from 1981 to 2001. We might be in another dark age for who holds that position now
